A managerial leadership designation for financial services professionals granted jointly by The American College and GAMA International. Program topics include recruiting and selection, marketing, leadership and team building.

CMFC - Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor

The Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor professional education program provides training on how to use mutual funds to meet a wide variety of financial goals - from saving for college education costs and reducing taxes to planning for retirement. Offered through NEFE. +Participants must complete nine modules and a two hour proctored exam in order to earn this designation. Once an individual has earned the designation they may use its abbreviation on stationery, advertising and marketing material. Only Financial Planners and Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) may spell out the designation and use it in all states. Producers who are not Financial Planners or RIAs are limited to using the initials in all states except GA, MD and WA. MDRT - Court of the Table

This is the middle-tier of membership in the Million Dollar Round Table and the Round Table headquarters reviews and usually resets its production requirements for eligibility annually. A prescribed minimum percentage of production (e.g. 50% for the 2007 production year) must reflect sales of products from the "unlimited" (also referred to as "core") product lines - life, annuities, long-term care, and disability. The minimum production required for Court of the Table level is three times the production required for the basic level of MDRT membership. A candidate must also be a member of NAIFA or another Professional Association accepted by MDRT. After several years with no change, membership dues for this level were increased to $500 in 2007 (previously $400). Applicable requirements for production amounts and other criteria that are subject to change are reflected in the Recognition Program Eligibility Rules document for the current qualifying year. MDRT - Life Member or Qualifying and Life Member

Regardless of the membership tier in which one qualifies, an additional status indicator is used to show when an individual has attained 10 years or more of MDRT membership. When approved for the 10th year of membership the individual becomes a Qualifying and Life member. [If initially licensed as an insurance or financial services professional/advisor after age 45, the QL status may be achieved after being approved for membership in six consecutive years.] Once QL status is attained, a member also has the alternative to apply as a Life member (L) by not submitting certified production with the membership application. Whether under QL or L member status, life members must annually submit an application and pay dues. Applicable requirements for production amounts and other criteria that are subject to change are reflected in the Recognition Program Eligibility Rules document for the current qualifying year.
